Leadership Pathways, Part 1: Preparing for a Wider Scope of Leadership

Facilitated by Andrea Buczynski (Cru – VP for Global Leadership Development/HR),
Wendy Wilson (Women’s Dev Track – Exec Dir)

What changes as your responsibilities increase?

This experience focuses on developing the increasing capacities/skills needed for women who are gifted and called into a larger scope or responsibility of leadership in their organization. Whether you are already there or on your way, this experience can help you trouble shoot where you’re at, identify what needs to shift, and put language to what you’re experiencing.  While more agencies are seeking gifted women to serve in their senior leadership teams, too often the paths to this niche of service for women are not clear, leaving us under-prepared for the unique challenges and opportunities we face. We will discuss the importance of the heart of the leader as well as her relationships with God, self, and others. We will also consider key functions of a leader such casting vision, setting direction, attending to priorities, leading change, building teams, men/women working together, and serving as spokesperson.  Developing confidence, born of humility and calling, allows gifted women to bring needed creativity and perspective to decision-making teams where men and women work together to offer the fullness of God’s Image. This peer-mentoring community is guided by experienced women mentors and limited to a cohort of 12 participants, so we leave with important friendships for the ongoing journey! Some advance reading.

*Upon registration, you will receive instructions about getting material to read ahead reflectively.

For more details about what is covered, click on the Module Descriptions Tab.  Learning is done in interactive peer-groups, guided by experienced mentors, with a maximum of 12 women in each group. First come, first serve!  Register by March 1, 2022.  (After this date, contact us to see if there are any places still open or to get on a waiting list.)

Course Schedule:

Begin Tuesday evening, May 3, with registration and dinner at 5pm, then introductory session following. We will enjoy an extended worship time together on the first morning to ease into our week, and a Free Afternoon half way through the week to enjoy the area and have some fun/relaxation. If cancellation is made after the registration deadline and we are able to fill your place with another participant, you will also be refunded all but $150. However, if cancellation is made after the registration deadline and we are not able to fill your place, your registration cannot be refunded since we are committed to our reservation with Ross Point in full after that date. In case of true emergency we can try to negotiate this, but especially for configuring small group intensive mentoring experiences, we will count on your being with us once you have registered! (If the facility cancels due to covid concerns, you will be fully refunded.)

If you are flying from out of the area please fly into Spokane, WA (GEG) by Tuesday afternoon, May 3, no later than 4pm, so our scheduled start at 5pm is protected. Flight departures anytime Tues, May 10 (scheduled breakfast included, unless your departure flight is too early). Thanks for arranging your arrival/departure times so that you will be present from beginning to end, not arriving late/leaving early. It takes about 30 minutes to get from the Spokane airport to the Ross Point Camp and we will meet you.

If you are driving to Ross Point Camp, please plan to be there by 4 pm on Tues, May 3, to get checked in and settled before our training time begins.
