Eve is best known for causing the fall. Sarah is blamed for tensions in the Middle East. Ruth acted scandalously on the threshing floor. And Mary Magdalene is infamous for a life of prostitution. By misinterpreting their stories\, we also risk adopting a faulty view of God. Vindicating the Victims challenges these superficial treatments and contends that we have missed what biblical authors intended to convey about 13 notable women of Scripture. \nDates: 1st Fridays (once a month)\, April 7 – Nov 3\nTime: 12:00 – 1:30pm\, Eastern Time\nFacilitator:  Eva Burkholder\, Christar\nEva is an MK from PNG\, former cross-cultural worker in Indonesia\, and currently a member care provider with Christar. Wife to Mark and mother of two married sons\, she currently lives in Richardson\, Texas and enjoys blogging\, doing puzzles\, and macramé. \n**************************************************************************** \nWOMEN IN GOD’S MISSION: Accepting the Invitation to Serve and Lead\, by Mary Lederleitner \nThis book surveys women from a variety of cultures across the globe to gather their insights as women who lead gospel efforts. The author unveils how women serve in distinctive ways and identifies key traits of faithful connected leaders who resourcefully carry on with resilience and hope.  Real-life stories give us so much to learn about the dynamics that inhibit women and also give testimony to God’s grace that causes them to thrive. \nDates: First Thursday (once a month)\, April 6 – Nov 2\nTime: 2:00-3:30pm\, Eastern Time\nFacilitator:  Wendy Wilson\, Missio Nexus\, Women’s Development Track\nWendy is currently the Executive Director of Women’s Development Track\, envisioning and equipping women to bring their gifts fully into the grand calling of the Great Commission.  She has led inter-mission equipping efforts for 38 years\, including 20 years of executive leadership experience in missions. Wendy lives in Coeur d’Alene\, Idaho with her husband\, Ed Dudding\, who has a local counseling practice for process addictions and trauma. \n**************************************************************************** \nTHE MAKING OF BIBLICAL WOMANHOOD: How the Subjugation of Women Became Gospel Truth\, by Beth Allison Barr. \nNorth American definitions of biblical womanhood shape the everyday lives of evangelical women – from choices about careers to roles in local churches to relationship dynamics – and have found their way into the conversations of cross-cultural workers. This book moves the conversation about biblical womanhood beyond Greek grammar and into the realm of church history–ancient\, medieval\, and modern–to show how human civilization continues to creep into the church. Barr’s historical insights provide context for contemporary teachings about women’s roles in the church and help move the conversation forward. \nDates: 2nd Mondays (once a month)\, April 10 – Nov 13\nTime: 7:00-8:30pm\, Eastern Time\nFacilitator:  Beth Eckstein\, SEND Intntl\nBeth grew up in the Midwest but has made her home in Asia for the last 23 years\, spending time in both China and now in Taiwan. Beth works co-vocationally balancing her time between SEND International where she works as a coach and mentor as well as  working as an executive coach and corporate trainer for companies in Asia. She loves spending time in nature\, especially at the beach\, and is an avid reader. She survived sending her daughter to college last year and is enjoying the last few years of high school with her son. \n******************************************************************************** \nRegister by clicking on the icon at the top right of this page – indicate your title choice with day/time. 10 places in each group. SUMMARY:Pursuing Partnership:Men and Women Leading Together
DESCRIPTION:Missio Nexus ’24’ series:  Kansas City\, MO    Hosted by Avant Ministries\n(registration closes March 13\, or sooner if full)\nPursuing Partnership: Men and Women Leading Together\n*Creating Pathways for Women in Organizational Leadership\n*Reducing Unintended Barriers to Women’s Participation\n*Organization Culture Shifts that Help Men and Women Flourish as They Work Together \n\n’24’ is a small gathering of Missio Nexus members who are focused on exploring and growing together around a specific affinity. ‘24′ will take place over 24 hours in a face-to-face setting allowing attendees to quickly gain new insights\, build relationships\, and grow together on relevant topics and issues. \n\nLimited to 15 people for more focused interaction and hands on planning (limit to 2 people from any one organization\, but 2 colleagues attending together is encouraged for maximum benefit and reporting back)\nWorking retreat atmosphere\nLearn with and from your colleagues\nSpiritual reflection\nLeave with new relationships and insight\nOpportunities for ongoing cohort learning and interaction following event\n\nFacilitated by Ms. Wendy Wilson\, Dr. Rob Dixon\, and Dr. Leanne Dzubinski  *\n*More about our facilitators below \nEvent Specifics: \nFacilitators will lead us in a day of interaction around understanding what is happening in both the research and changing expectations around men and women working together in leadership. What do we have to gain or lose by actively pursuing a more effective blend of men and women working together at the leadership level? We will engage questions and interaction\, and make progress on developing effective processes for your own scenario. \n\nAre the issues traditional\, theological and/or practical?\nWhat can be easily changed (once recognized) and what is more challenging?\nWhat might a helpful organizational readiness process look like toward bringing more women into leadership?\nHow might expectations be different between home office leadership\, field staff\, supporting churches?\nAs many entities desire to involve more women in their leadership structures (field or executive roles)\, what might be unintended barriers and unrecognized opportunities in this direction? Why do these gifted women seem so hard to find? And when we find them\, why do they seem hesitant to step forward?\nHow can we create more avenues to find\, develop\, support\, and retain more gifted women to bring the perspective and talent that we desire for our organizations?\nWhat characteristics of organizational culture best support men and women working together in leadership?\n\nWe will explore the structure of gender bias in the workplace\, including the 6 primary unconscious gender bias barriers and multiple subcomponents of each barrier. These barriers have been identified through research and are commonly (and often surprisingly) at play in the ways we function. As we identify those unintended barriers that may be at work in our own organizational cultures\, we are free to think creatively about removing and replacing them with processes that more accurately reflect our goals and help us accomplish our mission. \nWe will also consider a variety of organizational practices that can help us move toward organizational cultures that invite\, develop\, and support women with leadership gifts and experience. By discussing several case studies from evangelical organizations that have grappled successfully with these issues\, we can begin to cultivate readiness\, embrace desired change\,  and establish ongoing pathways to bring the gifts of women more fully to bear alongside their brothers in Christ.  The Image of God displayed and at work! \nWho is this for? \n\nMission Organization Decision-Makers (Executive Level\, HR/Personnel)\nField Staff Leadership\nChurch Leadership (Pastors\, Elders\, Dir. of Ops/Personnel)\n\n\nRegistration: $100 \nTues/Wed\, March 21-22\, 2023   \nMarch 21\, noon to 8pm (including lunch/dinner) to March 22\, 8:30am to noon (concluding with lunch)\nRegister and pay online through the link in the top right corner of this page. (Notation for Partnerships – Mar 2023)  If mailing payment after registering\, make check payable to Women’s Development Track    PO Box 894   Coeur d’Alene\, ID 83816.  \nIf you have your own accommodations in the area\, the cost for the noon-noon event is $100\, which includes lunch-dinner on Tues and lunch on Wed. SUMMARY:A Global Vision for Women: Exploring our Theology and its Impact
DESCRIPTION:Post Falls\, Idaho   Ross Point Conference Center\nRegister by September 8\, 2023\nInvest in a week of personal refreshment and ministry renewal in a beautiful setting with like-minded peers! Limited places available – first come\, first serve. . .registration closes when full.\nFacilitated by:\nWendy Wilson (Missio Nexus\, WDT) and Heather Althoff (LifeWay Church)\nThis development experience will help you sort through your own tensions and confusion in the variety of positions and practice on women in marriage and the church/ministry\, so you can serve with personal clarity and faith as well as interact fruitfully with others on this important and impactful topic. Invest now in a relational learning experience with peers for renewal and growth!  Learning is done in interactive peer-groups\, guided by experienced mentors\, with a maximum of 12 women in each group. First come\, first serve! Register soon! \nA Global Vision for Women: Exploring our Theology and its Impact Women hold up at least half the sky and make up more than half the church. Attention to both the plight and giftedness of women across the globe has been called the “moral challenge and unfinished business” of this century. As we plant and nurture churches in diverse settings\, what are the current callings\, challenges\, and opportunities of the North American church and missions regarding women? Instead of fear and confusion\, we can we have productive conversations that encourage God’s people to partner together fruitfully in their callings and engage the paths God has laid before them? \nAs we come from different perspectives and practices\, we will grapple toward personal clarity and impact of issues like: 1)  God’s relationship to women in the Bible\, 2)  historical surveys of women in ministry from the early church to present\, 3)  understanding the discussion around biblical culture and theology of women in key passages\, with its implications and applications in various settings\, 4) the narratives of women and Kingdom themes\, and 5)  intentionality in nurturing and stewarding the giftedness of women in our organizations.  We will respectfully interact to embrace what is most important to us by faith\, living it out with confidence and grace\, and let God speak to us about what He is doing in our day!  Some advance reading. \n(Other Module groups also meeting during this week:   Self-Guided Personal/Team Retreat option  -(see separate event banner) \nCourse Schedule:\nBegin Wednesday evening\, Nov 8\, with registration and dinner at 5pm\, then introductory session following. SUMMARY:Mentoring Next Generation Women: Re-igniting Intergenerational Relationships
DESCRIPTION:Mentoring Next Generation Women: Re-igniting Intergenerational Relationships\nOctober 26 – November 1\, 2022     Kansas City\, MO at Avant Ministries      \nRegistration Closed: FULL – Check back in 2023! \nhosted by: Avant Ministries in Kansas City\, MO\nfacilitated by: Wendy Wilson (WDT/Missio Nexus) and Jenny Baker (SEND) \nInvest in a week of personal refreshment and ministry renewal in a beautiful setting with like-minded peers! Limited places available – first come\, first serve. . .\nThis development experience will help you build confidence and skills around clarity in reaching toward other-generational women as mentors or mentees\, and strengthen your ability to step into the opportunities God is putting before you!  Invest now in a relational learning experience with peers\, in a lovely setting for renewal and growth!  Learning is done in interactive peer-groups\, guided by experienced mentors\, with a maximum of 12 women in each group. First come\, first serve!  \n(Other Module groups also meeting during this week:  Discovering My Design and Personal Mission – see Module Descriptions for more information.) \nDesigned by Dr Barbara Neumann\, Dallas Seminary.   Do you feel a bit intimidated\, frustrated\, or just baffled in relationships with women around you who were raised in a different generational culture? Jesus set in motion the essential Christian tradition of disciplepship – passing on vibrant faith relationally\, from one generation to the next. Young women today clamor for mentors/disciplers who will accept and guide them\, but too often the older women that have so much to offer them wrestle with a lack of confidence. How can we build bridges of understanding and connection between generations so that we preserve the rich resource of women-to-women relationships as we move toward each other? We’ll consider influential distinctives of the Boomer to Millennial generations and explore encouraging pathways between them. We’ll explore generational values and perspectives on key issues such as God\, spirituality\, church\, relationships\, commitment\, sexuality and morality\, fears and hopes\, the impact of technology and globalization. And we’ll explore the roles and desires of both mentors and mentees\, discerning needs and commonalities\, types of mentoring relationships\, common mentoring mistakes\, and how to create the nourishing relationships that busy women want to make time for! Some advance preparation. \nFor more description on this module\, go to www.WomensDevelopmentTrack.com/module-descriptions/ \nCourse Schedule:\nBegin Wednesday evening\, October 26\, with introductions/overview and dinner at 5pm\, then introductory session following. SUMMARY:Monthly Guided Discussion Group: Internal Permission Issues Plaguing Women in Leadership
DESCRIPTION:Registration closed: in process (check back in Summer 2023 for another group)\nMonthly Guided Peer-Mentoring Group for Women in Leadership \nFeatured Book: 7 Deadly Sins of Women in Leadership\, Overcome Self-Defeating Behavior in Work and Ministry\nFacilitated by Wendy Wilson and Melanie Lachcik\n(*see below for more on your facilitators) \nExplore with other Great Commission women the common ways women hold themselves back as leaders:\nWomen are making their way into strategic positions of influence and leadership within the church\, public\, corporate\, charity\, and voluntary sectors in unprecedented numbers. They are called by God to flourish in these areas. At the same time\, women’s entry into the leadership arena has been the catalyst to uncover deep-seated issues in leadership culture.  These external and internal challenges are not unique to women\, but they tend to hinder women in unique ways:\n    Overcome limiting self-perception\n    Establish boundaries\n    Develop clear personal vision\n    Cultivate healthy work/life rhythm\n    Stop being a people-pleaser\n    Learn to confront\, not collude\n    Be intentional with your inner circle \nGroups are limited to 12 participants (closed when full) to best support both our new relationships and vibrant discussions. Guided by experienced facilitators\, we can look forward to a deeper dive on the subject at hand each week as well as benefit from the varied experience of group members. \nBecause groups are limited in size\, we count on group members doing all they can to be present\, prepared\, and ready to participate each meeting. While we understand that unexpected issues come up\, we trust that each participant will honor her group by making this monthly meeting a priority. This way we can all look forward to the most meaningful experience together! Likewise\, because this is a peer-mentoring discussion-based learning experience\, sessions will not be recorded to support out ability to honestly process our challenges together. \nRegister by Oct 14 to assure your place. When your registration is received you’ll receive a confirmation email and Zoom invitation! Feel free to order your book right away so you have it in plenty of time:\n7 Deadly Sins of Women in Leadership by Kate Coleman\, Zondervan Publishers. \nRegistration:(click button above right corner) \nCost: $30 when you register\, plus purchase of the book separately. \nDates: Third Wednesday\, once a month\, Oct 19 – April 19\n(Oct 19\, Nov 16\, Dec 21\, Jan 18\, Feb 15\, Mar 15\, Apr 19)\nTime: 1:00 – 2:15pm\, Eastern Time (10:00 – 11:15am Pacific)\n*Facilitators:  Wendy Wilson and Melanie Lachcik \nWendy has served in various capacities in leadership training ministry since 1984. Her great joy is envisioning and equipping women to participate in the grand calling of the Great Commission.  Since 2012 she has served as the Mission Advisor for Development of Women to the Missio Nexus network\, founding a collaborative project\, Women’s Development Track\, to help agencies and churches bring the full spectrum of gifts of women more fully to bear in accomplishing the Great Commission.\n \nMelanie was first introduced to the Women’s Development Track’s Leadership Pathways cohort learning process in 2018. She felt that God used these experiences to significantly shape her\, catalyzing her own desire to continually learn and grow personally as well as see others develop in their own leadership journey.  Melanie uses her passion and skills to serve at WordPartners as the Vice President of Partner Development.   \n Register by clicking on the icon at the top right of this page – indicate “7 DeadlySins Online.” First come\, first serve!\n \nQuestions or requests?  Wendy@WomensDevelopmentTrack.com

SUMMARY:Equipping Missions for the Cultural Challenges of Singleness\, Marriage & Sexuality
DESCRIPTION:Missio Nexus ’24’ Peer-Learning Event\nApril 20-21         in the Chicago area\nFor more information and registration:  MissioNexus.org/events \nCulture is rapidly changing with respect to marriage\, singleness and sexuality. Mission organizations need biblically grounded tools and resources to provide constructive responses to these cultural challenges. Though singles and marrieds\, with and without children\, may serve shoulder to shoulder on teams\, they have very different perceptions\, needs and challenges. \nWhat are the critical differences? How do we respond to the cultural challenges and live the reality of who we are in Christ as we serve together on teams – thriving in service and community? How do we effectively value and leverage every member? \nThis 24 event will equip mission leaders to develop answers to these questions through understanding the cultural trends\, examining the biblical data\, gleaning feedback from missionaries across the globe\, and interacting with other leaders. We will offer a biblical foundation for thinking and reflecting on the issues of singleness\, marriage and sexuality relevant for all cultures\, traditional and western. In a collaborative learning environment participants will have opportunity to share methods for better supporting and leveraging single and married members in their mission. Together we can be prepared to face a world of challenges and lead the mission endeavor through the twenty-first century and beyond. \nThis event will be facilitated by the Shoulder-to-Shoulder team\, an initiative of One Another Ministries. \nFor more information and registration:  MissioNexus.org/events

SUMMARY:Developing a Discerning Heart: Deeper Personal Walk and Peer-Helping
DESCRIPTION:Registration for this module is now closed. Check back for another opportunity in 2020!\nHosted by: SIM USA     Charlotte\, NC \nFacilitated by Ramonda Lunsford \nBased on the manual Developing a Discerning Heart\, by Entrust. Do you sense there is MORE about “freedom in Christ” than you are enjoying in your relationship with God and others? Every believer\, at every stage of maturity\, has new ground to gain in experiencing the truth that has set them free in Christ.   God’s heart for His children\, and the work of His Spirit\, is to expose the underlying lies that run and ruin our lives and\, layer by layer\, replace them with the redeeming truth that restores us more fully to the joy of God’s Image in us.  Learning to discern the great information contained in our thinking\, choices\, feelings\, and desires is a lifetime exercise. As we grow in this understanding and change in our own lives\, we are better able to help others as well. Matt 7:5.  Some advance preparation. \nThis development experience will help you build confidence and discipleship skills that strengthen your ability to step into the opportunities God is putting before you!  Invest now in a relational learning experience with peers\, in a lovely setting for renewal and growth!   Learning is done in interactive peer-groups\, guided by experienced mentors\, with a maximum of 10 women in each group.
