SUMMARY:Pursuing Partnership:Men and Women Leading Together
DESCRIPTION:Missio Nexus ’24’ series:  Kansas City\, MO    Hosted by Avant Ministries\n(registration closes March 13\, or sooner if full)\nPursuing Partnership: Men and Women Leading Together\n*Creating Pathways for Women in Organizational Leadership\n*Reducing Unintended Barriers to Women’s Participation\n*Organization Culture Shifts that Help Men and Women Flourish as They Work Together \n\n’24’ is a small gathering of Missio Nexus members who are focused on exploring and growing together around a specific affinity. ‘24′ will take place over 24 hours in a face-to-face setting allowing attendees to quickly gain new insights\, build relationships\, and grow together on relevant topics and issues. \n\nLimited to 15 people for more focused interaction and hands on planning (limit to 2 people from any one organization\, but 2 colleagues attending together is encouraged for maximum benefit and reporting back)\nWorking retreat atmosphere\nLearn with and from your colleagues\nSpiritual reflection\nLeave with new relationships and insight\nOpportunities for ongoing cohort learning and interaction following event\n\nFacilitated by Ms. Wendy Wilson\, Dr. Rob Dixon\, and Dr. Leanne Dzubinski  *\n*More about our facilitators below \nEvent Specifics: \nFacilitators will lead us in a day of interaction around understanding what is happening in both the research and changing expectations around men and women working together in leadership. What do we have to gain or lose by actively pursuing a more effective blend of men and women working together at the leadership level? We will engage questions and interaction\, and make progress on developing effective processes for your own scenario. \n\nAre the issues traditional\, theological and/or practical?\nWhat can be easily changed (once recognized) and what is more challenging?\nWhat might a helpful organizational readiness process look like toward bringing more women into leadership?\nHow might expectations be different between home office leadership\, field staff\, supporting churches?\nAs many entities desire to involve more women in their leadership structures (field or executive roles)\, what might be unintended barriers and unrecognized opportunities in this direction? Why do these gifted women seem so hard to find? And when we find them\, why do they seem hesitant to step forward?\nHow can we create more avenues to find\, develop\, support\, and retain more gifted women to bring the perspective and talent that we desire for our organizations?\nWhat characteristics of organizational culture best support men and women working together in leadership?\n\nWe will explore the structure of gender bias in the workplace\, including the 6 primary unconscious gender bias barriers and multiple subcomponents of each barrier. These barriers have been identified through research and are commonly (and often surprisingly) at play in the ways we function. As we identify those unintended barriers that may be at work in our own organizational cultures\, we are free to think creatively about removing and replacing them with processes that more accurately reflect our goals and help us accomplish our mission. \nWe will also consider a variety of organizational practices that can help us move toward organizational cultures that invite\, develop\, and support women with leadership gifts and experience. By discussing several case studies from evangelical organizations that have grappled successfully with these issues\, we can begin to cultivate readiness\, embrace desired change\,  and establish ongoing pathways to bring the gifts of women more fully to bear alongside their brothers in Christ.  The Image of God displayed and at work! \nWho is this for? \n\nMission Organization Decision-Makers (Executive Level\, HR/Personnel)\nField Staff Leadership\nChurch Leadership (Pastors\, Elders\, Dir. of Ops/Personnel)\n\n\nRegistration: $100 \nTues/Wed\, March 21-22\, 2023   \nMarch 21\, noon to 8pm (including lunch/dinner) to March 22\, 8:30am to noon (concluding with lunch)\nRegister and pay online through the link in the top right corner of this page. (Notation for Partnerships – Mar 2023)  If mailing payment after registering\, make check payable to Women’s Development Track    PO Box 894   Coeur d’Alene\, ID 83816.  \nIf you have your own accommodations in the area\, the cost for the noon-noon event is $100\, which includes lunch-dinner on Tues and lunch on Wed. If you are coming from outside the area and would like to stay at the Avant Guest Facility overnight for the 21st\, the cost is $150\, which includes airport shuttle from MCI (Kansas City\, MO). SUMMARY:Equipping Missions for the Cultural Challenges of Singleness\, Marriage & Sexuality
DESCRIPTION:Missio Nexus ’24’ Peer-Learning Event\nApril 20-21         in the Chicago area\nFor more information and registration:  MissioNexus.org/events \nCulture is rapidly changing with respect to marriage\, singleness and sexuality. Mission organizations need biblically grounded tools and resources to provide constructive responses to these cultural challenges. Though singles and marrieds\, with and without children\, may serve shoulder to shoulder on teams\, they have very different perceptions\, needs and challenges. \nWhat are the critical differences? How do we respond to the cultural challenges and live the reality of who we are in Christ as we serve together on teams – thriving in service and community? How do we effectively value and leverage every member? \nThis 24 event will equip mission leaders to develop answers to these questions through understanding the cultural trends\, examining the biblical data\, gleaning feedback from missionaries across the globe\, and interacting with other leaders. We will offer a biblical foundation for thinking and reflecting on the issues of singleness\, marriage and sexuality relevant for all cultures\, traditional and western. In a collaborative learning environment participants will have opportunity to share methods for better supporting and leveraging single and married members in their mission. Together we can be prepared to face a world of challenges and lead the mission endeavor through the twenty-first century and beyond. \nThis event will be facilitated by the Shoulder-to-Shoulder team\, an initiative of One Another Ministries. \nFor more information and registration:  MissioNexus.org/events
