SUMMARY:Clifton Strengths Workshop: Embracing My Design
DESCRIPTION:Registration closed\nEmbracing My Design for the Glory of God and His Purposes through Me\n(For women and men both!)\nIn a culture of overcommitment and porous boundaries\, understanding more about how God has wired me to best contribute to my relationships and ministry opportunities for HIS GLORY can help me make better (guilt-free) decisions with my limited time and support healthy relationships with the people God has placed in my life.  \nSaturday workshop: NOVEMBER 15\, 2025   9am – 1pm\n521 E Lakeside\, Coeur dAlene\, ID 83814 (Gymnasium doors facing parking lot on 5th street)\nFacilitated by Heather Erickson\, Gallup Certified Strengths Coach\, https://coeursolutions.com\nCost: $60 (Includes the Gallup Strengths Survey and materials) \nIt’s easy to think everyone approaches life and relationships the way we do\, but the reality is that God designed diversity into each one of us that allows us to 1) bring our strengths (and embrace them) for the benefit of others\, and 2) to depend on others (and grow in grace) for what they bring that is different from us. Frustration can turn to appreciation! \nUncover your unique God-given talents through CliftonStrengths reports and activities:\n* Grow your identity in Christ!\n* Lean into your God Given talents!\n* Bless your colleagues\, friendships\, marriages\, and parenting with more godly confidence!\n\n\n  \nThe workshop includes the CliftonStrengths survey which you will take 7 days before you come. It takes about 45 minutes to complete. The link to the survey will come to the email address you put on your registration form. We will deep dive into your top 5 reports\, giving you personalized insights and a full understanding of the top 5 reports. Facilitated reflection and discussion\, guided activities to help you create an application strategy for growth into your design!  After this engaging overview\, Heather can be engaged for followup appointments to explore what you have to gain through growth into your strengths: \n* in coaching more specifically into your own profile personally\,\n* in your parenting as a couple with the transforming benefit of your combined strengths\,\n*in your ministry teams to bring each member’s best contribution forward as a blessing rather than a source of frustration or stress. \n\n\n\nGet started now on this encouraging journey! SUMMARY:Leadership Pathways\, Part 2: Leading Myself as I Follow Christ
DESCRIPTION:March 26 – April 2\, 2025   \nRegistration closed: FULL – email Wendy to be put on a “first-notify” list in case a spot opens up.\nFacilitators:  Caryn Young\, Strengths-Finders coach\nJoy Beless\, Spiritual Director and Worship Leader\nWendy Wilson\, Women’s Development Track – Exec Dir \nUsually the hardest person to lead is . . . myself!  Has the woman in the mirror cultivated her own relationship with God in stillness and trust\, recognizing the other voices that compete for her priorities? As we steward the gift of leadership and the impact of our leadership on others\, we want to nurture a lifestyle that can resist busy-ness and capitulation as opportunities press hard on us for a response. This is where too many leaders compromise spiritual vitality and their ability to lead others well. With both guided and private space to sit with the Lord and to catch up with your soul\, we will enjoy a variety of practices that invite us to protect essential margin and quiet before the Lord so that we maintain the spiritual vitality needed to lead others well. We will explore life/work balance and boundaries; working with our brothers\, being aware of self-limiting perceptions\, maintaining healthy personal vision\, conflict management\, and other internal permission issues that can impact our leadership as women in particular. We will also address God’s design for our best contribution through personal Strengths-Finders discovery and coaching on-site during the week.  This peer-mentoring community is guided by experienced women mentors and limited to a cohort of 10 participants\, so we leave with important friendships for the ongoing journey! Part 1 is recommended but not required.  (Advance reading for discussion: Seven Deadly Sins of Women in Leadership\, by Kate Coleman\, and Sacred Rhythms\, by Ruth Haley Barton) \nLearning is done in an interactive peer-group\, guided by experienced mentors\, with a maximum of 10 women (max 2 per organization.) SUMMARY:Leadership Pathways\, Part 1: Preparing for a Wider Scope of Leadership
DESCRIPTION:May 14-20\, 2025  \nRegistration closes March 14\, 2025 (or sooner if full – 1 place remaining)\nLeadership Pathways\, Part 1: Preparing for a Wider Scope of Leadership\nFacilitated by:\nAndrea Buczynski (Cru – Leadership Consultant and Coach)\,\nJenn Williamson (MissioNexus\, Dir of Leadership Formation\n \nWhat changes as your responsibilities increase? \nThis experience focuses on developing the increasing capacities/skills needed for women who are gifted and called into a larger scope or responsibility of leadership in their organization. Whether you are already there or on your way\, this experience can help you trouble shoot where you are currently\, identify what needs to shift\, and put language to what you’re experiencing.  While more agencies are seeking gifted women to serve in their senior leadership teams\, too often the paths to this niche of service for women are not clear\, leaving us under-prepared for the unique challenges and opportunities we face. We will discuss the importance of the heart of the leader as well as her relationships with God\, self\, and others. We will also consider key functions of a leader such casting vision\, setting direction\, attending to priorities\, leading change\, building teams\, men/women working together\, and serving as spokesperson.  Developing confidence\, born of humility and calling\, allows gifted women to bring needed creativity and perspective to decision-making teams where men and women work together to offer the fullness of God’s Image. This peer-mentoring community is guided by experienced women mentors and limited to a cohort of 12 participants\, so we leave with important friendships for the ongoing journey! SUMMARY:Statio: A Holy Pause
DESCRIPTION:Charlotte\, NC at SIM USA\n(Registration closed – full)\nInvest in a week of personal refreshment\, ministry renewal and re-tooling in a beautiful setting with like-minded peers! Limited places available – first come\, first serve. . .\nhosted by: SIM USA\nfacilitated by Ruthie Campbell (SIM\, Spiritual Vitality and Prayer Coordinator) \nStatio is a custom of stopping one thing before beginning another\, making room for an unhurried moment to be attentive to God.  Psalm 90:12 (NASB) says ‘So teach us to number our days aright that we might present to you a heart of wisdom.’  Are you in need of a holy pause to consider the order of your days? A way of being that leads to greater intimacy with God and in tune with your need to enter His rest and live from it for the sake of others? \nLaunching our discussions from Ruth Haley Barton’s book Sacred Rhythms\, we will explore and practice several key Spiritual Practices that disciples of Jesus have used throughout history to arrange their lives for growing in intimacy with God.  Through the week we each will craft a personal framework of rhythm to help order our days towards living from a stillness that offers fruit to others and brings about the Kingdom in all its fullness.  Through guided reflections\, facilitated discussions\, as well as times of silence and solitude\, we will make room to nourish our souls and listen attentively to God\, to one another\, and to what’s stirring in our own hearts.   Group size is limited to 10. \nThis development experience will allow time to experience practices that can help us enter into the stillness that strengthens our ability to enjoy Him and to discern what God is doing around us\, in us\, and through us!  Invest now in this relational learning experience with peers\, in a lovely setting for renewal and growth!   Learning is done in interactive peer-groups\, guided by experienced mentors\, with a maximum of 10 women in each group. SUMMARY:Theology of Women and Men in Ministry and Marriage: Unpacking the Evangelical Spectrum in Position and Practice
DESCRIPTION:A guided\, interactive workshop for brothers and sisters in Christ together. \nNov 10-12\, 2023 (Fri\, 1pm-6:30pm – Sat\, 9:00am-6:30pm\, Sun 9:00am – 5:00pm)\nMeals included\nPost Falls\, Idaho at Ross Point Conference Center\n\n Registration closes when full – limited space\, so register soon \n \nPresenter-Facilitators (scroll down for more about them*):\nHeather Althoff – LifeWay Church\, Assoc Missions Pastor\nTrevor Gavin – pastor/teacher and church planter\nRon Pierce – Biola University/Talbot School of Theology\, Professor\nWendy Wilson – MissioNexus\, Advisor for Dev of Women; Women’s Development Track\, Exec Dir \nAs evangelicals we believe in the inerrancy of Scripture and hold a high view of God’s written Word to us as the basis of our belief and practice And we all love and worship the Living Word\, Jesus\, our Redeemer\, Savior\, and God Almighty. So how can it be that evangelicals – whether serious academics\, ministry leaders or other devoted disciples – have come to such a wide variety of conclusions about God’s design and heart for women in the Body of Christ? Who they are\, what they can do or not do\, how they relate to God and His purposes\, how they relate to their brothers in Christ. (And so\, this discussion is really about men and women both!) And how can it be that evangelicals who may hold the same position\, actually practice it quite differently? \nWhen it comes to texts that have greatly influenced modern evangelical thought\, we are dealing with issues of interpretation of Scripture\, for we are agreed on the inspiration of Scripture. And so we can expectantly and graciously engage together in an exploration of what the interpretive challenges actually are in those passages. And the interpretive decisions we all make that impact the way we walk out our faith in the area of men and women in Christ. \nIn this workshop we will look at the spectrum of thought\, the different ways and why’s evangelical believers have come to different conclusions\, all pursuing God’s heart and honoring His Word. We’ll consider closely some passages that are most often contested in this conversation:  Genesis 1-3\, Ephesians 5\, 1 Peter 3\, Galatians\, 1 Timothy 2\, 1 Corinthians 7\, 11 & 14. Come and dig in with us\, in a respectful conversation\, guided by Kingdom colleagues who are experienced in this rich discussion (and love it!) Our hope is to give you information and perspectives that encourage your own continuing journey in faith and practice. \nAdvance reading suggested:\nHalf the Church (Zondervan\, 2015)\, by Carolyn Custis James\nNeither Complementarian nor Egalitarian\,(Baker Books\, 2016)\, by Dr Michelle Lee-Barnewall \n(After you read the book\, listen to her 40-min podcast in an interview that highlights her journey into a more fruitful conversation.) \nCOURSE SCHEDULE:\nBegin Friday\, Nov 10\, at 1pm. First come\, first serve! Register soon! \nA Global Vision for Women: Exploring our Theology and its Impact Women hold up at least half the sky and make up more than half the church. Attention to both the plight and giftedness of women across the globe has been called the “moral challenge and unfinished business” of this century. As we plant and nurture churches in diverse settings\, what are the current callings\, challenges\, and opportunities of the North American church and missions regarding women? Instead of fear and confusion\, we can we have productive conversations that encourage God’s people to partner together fruitfully in their callings and engage the paths God has laid before them? \nAs we come from different perspectives and practices\, we will grapple toward personal clarity and impact of issues like: 1)  God’s relationship to women in the Bible\, 2)  historical surveys of women in ministry from the early church to present\, 3)  understanding the discussion around biblical culture and theology of women in key passages\, with its implications and applications in various settings\, 4) the narratives of women and Kingdom themes\, and 5)  intentionality in nurturing and stewarding the giftedness of women in our organizations.  We will respectfully interact to embrace what is most important to us by faith\, living it out with confidence and grace\, and let God speak to us about what He is doing in our day!  Some advance reading. \n(Other Module groups also meeting during this week:   Self-Guided Personal/Team Retreat option  -(see separate event banner) \nCourse Schedule:\nBegin Wednesday evening\, Nov 8\, with registration and dinner at 5pm\, then introductory session following. Limited places available – first come\, first serve. . .\nThis development experience will help you build confidence and skills around clarity in reaching toward other-generational women as mentors or mentees\, and strengthen your ability to step into the opportunities God is putting before you!  Invest now in a relational learning experience with peers\, in a lovely setting for renewal and growth!  Learning is done in interactive peer-groups\, guided by experienced mentors\, with a maximum of 12 women in each group. First come\, first serve!  \n(Other Module groups also meeting during this week:  Discovering My Design and Personal Mission – see Module Descriptions for more information.) \nDesigned by Dr Barbara Neumann\, Dallas Seminary.   Do you feel a bit intimidated\, frustrated\, or just baffled in relationships with women around you who were raised in a different generational culture? Jesus set in motion the essential Christian tradition of disciplepship – passing on vibrant faith relationally\, from one generation to the next. Young women today clamor for mentors/disciplers who will accept and guide them\, but too often the older women that have so much to offer them wrestle with a lack of confidence. How can we build bridges of understanding and connection between generations so that we preserve the rich resource of women-to-women relationships as we move toward each other? We’ll consider influential distinctives of the Boomer to Millennial generations and explore encouraging pathways between them. We’ll explore generational values and perspectives on key issues such as God\, spirituality\, church\, relationships\, commitment\, sexuality and morality\, fears and hopes\, the impact of technology and globalization. And we’ll explore the roles and desires of both mentors and mentees\, discerning needs and commonalities\, types of mentoring relationships\, common mentoring mistakes\, and how to create the nourishing relationships that busy women want to make time for! SUMMARY:Developing a Discerning Heart: Deeper Personal Walk and Peer-Helping
DESCRIPTION:Registration for this module is now closed. Check back for another opportunity in 2020!\nHosted by: SIM USA     Charlotte\, NC \nFacilitated by Ramonda Lunsford \nBased on the manual Developing a Discerning Heart\, by Entrust. Do you sense there is MORE about “freedom in Christ” than you are enjoying in your relationship with God and others? Every believer\, at every stage of maturity\, has new ground to gain in experiencing the truth that has set them free in Christ.   God’s heart for His children\, and the work of His Spirit\, is to expose the underlying lies that run and ruin our lives and\, layer by layer\, replace them with the redeeming truth that restores us more fully to the joy of God’s Image in us.  Learning to discern the great information contained in our thinking\, choices\, feelings\, and desires is a lifetime exercise. As we grow in this understanding and change in our own lives\, we are better able to help others as well. Matt 7:5.  Some advance preparation. \nThis development experience will help you build confidence and discipleship skills that strengthen your ability to step into the opportunities God is putting before you!  Invest now in a relational learning experience with peers\, in a lovely setting for renewal and growth!   Learning is done in interactive peer-groups\, guided by experienced mentors\, with a maximum of 10 women in each group. First come\, first serve!  Register by July 26\, 2019. (After this date\, contact us to see if places are still available.) \nCourse Schedule:\nThe training begins at the SIM USA Charlotte campus on Saturday\, Sept 28\, at 5 p.m. with dinner and an introductory session. We will enjoy a worship time together on Sunday morning and a Free Afternoon on Wednesday for a break to rest or to enjoy the area for some fun/relaxation. (Note: your residential conference fee allows you to stay on the SIM campus Friday night\, Oct 4\, and fly or drive out on Saturday morning\, Oct 5).  \nAll-Inclusive On-Site Cost:   $750      Register by July 26\, 2019   ($600 commuter price for those staying elsewhere locally)\nWe will be hosted by the SIM Hospitality facility in Charlotte\, NC.
